SANDY CREEK

Sandy Creek is s 925-megawatt coal-fired plant located near Riesel, Texas. Emmert International performed the successful site transportation, lifting and rough setting of a Toshiba Steam Generator Stator at the power plant.

The Stator was 35’-0½” (10680mm) L x 21’-2 5/16” (6460mm) W x 17’-8 5/8” (5400mm) H with a gross transport weight of 886,250 lbs (402 tons).

The Stator was transferred from rail to Emmert International’s hydraulic platform trailer by using a 700 ton gantry. After it was trans-loaded the generator was transported to the site lifting area.

The Stator was lifted into position approximately 60’ vertically and moved over the Operating floor approximately 120’, with a 60’ free span, into the set down position over the foundation block.

The Stator was then lowered under guidance from the site into the required position on the foundation block.
