FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Emmert International Completes 2,900 Mile International Transport of Exchange Vessels
CLACKAMAS, Ore. — March 01, 2005 —
Emmert International successfully transported two exchange vessels on a 2,900-mile journey from the Gulf Coast to a Canada project site. The trip, requiring 26 days, passed through several Western states and on to Alberta to Edmonton, Canada.
Emmert International's project team spent eight months of intensive effort to develop the transportation plan, a specific route that would accommodate the load and obtain final approval on all of the required state & local municipality permits. Alberta Transportation Department gave special consideration to Emmert's transporter by the accepting the 16' wide trailer configuration.
Specific challenges included:
- Developing an oversize load design that would be in compliance with the many various jurisdictions through which the load would pass.
- Rugged terrain along the approved route
- Blizzards
- Maintain the nitrogen purge on the vessels during movement
- Temperatures ranging from 96 degrees to MINUS 49 degrees Fahrenheit
- Conducting transport as an in-bond shipment per US Customs requirements
Out customer congratulated Emmert International for the dedication and professionalism exhibited by everyone involved in this complex and challenging transportation project.
