FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Emmert International Completes 620-Ton Reactor Transported by Barge, Truck and Rail From Ship Side to Foundation

CLACKAMAS, Ore. — January 24, 2005 — Emmert International has successfully completed complex specialized transportation and erection project that required a combination of transportation modes and highly specialized rigging methods. The project consisted of moving a 620-ton reactor over 100 miles via barge, rail, and hydraulic platform transport system. In order to reach the site we were required to trans-load the reactor using our hydraulic gantry system four times.

Upon arrival at its destination, we again transferred the reactor to our hydraulic platform transport system and moved it to the erection site where the reactor was lifted from the transporter and placed on its foundation by Deep South Crane. The move within the project site was complicated by the necessity of offloading the reactor from the transporter and sliding it beneath a low pipe rack. The complex project was completed without accident or injury to personnel or property.
